Description
SPF50 mineral protection for people whose skin reacts badly to chemical sunscreens. The filters are zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, which sit on the surface and reflect UV rather than being absorbed, and they are the most tolerated option for sensitive, rosacea-prone or post-treatment skin.
The formula is hydrating rather than drying, with hyaluronic acid and three essential ceramides, so it works as a moisturiser and sunscreen in one step for normal to dry skin.
SPF50 is the right level for Kenya. We sit on the equator, UV index readings in Nairobi regularly reach extreme levels in the middle of the day, and altitude increases exposure further. Sun damage here accumulates faster than most people expect, and on deeper skin tones it shows up as hyperpigmentation and uneven tone long before it shows up as burning.
Be aware that as an untinted mineral formula this can leave a white cast on medium and deep skin. If that is a concern, the tinted version in this range is the better choice.
Apply generously every morning as the final step of your routine, and reapply every two hours if you are outdoors.
Fragrance free and non-comedogenic. Genuine CeraVe, stocked in Nairobi.
