Liora Essence

About Liora Essence

Liora Essence exists because buying real skincare and real fragrance in Kenya has been harder than it should be.

Anyone who has looked for a specific serum in Nairobi knows the routine. You find it on an Instagram page with no address. The price changes depending on who is asking. The box looks slightly wrong. You buy it anyway, because the alternative is waiting three weeks for something shipped from abroad, and paying duty on top.

We started Liora Essence to remove that guesswork. We stock the brands people actually want — La Roche-Posay, CeraVe, The Ordinary, Anua, Tom Ford, Chanel, Dior, Creed — at prices that stay the same for everyone, from a business with a physical address on Gaberone Street and a phone number that a person answers.

Sourced for this climate

Equatorial sun is not the same as European sun. A moisturiser formulated for a temperate winter behaves differently in Nairobi humidity, and an SPF that leaves a white cast on lighter skin is unusable on deeper skin tones.

That shapes what we stock. We carry sunscreens that finish clear on melanin-rich skin. We carry the actives that address what people here actually come to us about — hyperpigmentation, dark spots left behind by acne, uneven tone, oiliness that arrives by midday. When we describe a product, we describe how it behaves in this climate, on this skin, not how it reads on a European press release.

Genuine, or we do not stock it

Every product we sell is authentic. In a market where counterfeits are common and convincing, that is the thing we are least willing to compromise on. If we cannot source an item through a channel we trust, we would rather tell you we do not have it.

How to reach us

WhatsApp is the fastest way. Message 0116 100 842 and ask us anything — whether a product suits your skin, whether something is in stock, where your order has got to. We would rather talk you out of the wrong product than sell it to you.
