Y Le Parfum is the strongest and warmest interpretation of Y, and for many people it is the only one worth owning. It takes the clean structure of the original and loads it with spice and sweetness.
Ginger and bergamot open it, sage and juniper hold the middle, and a base of tonka bean, cedar and vanilla gives it the density that the lighter versions lack. It smells modern and slightly gourmand without tipping into dessert.
Performance is the main reason people upgrade to it. Eight hours is normal, and the projection in the first two hours is strong enough that two sprays is genuinely enough. In the cooler Nairobi months it sits perfectly; in December heat, go lighter than you think you need to.
