It opens on pineapple and blackcurrant — fruity, sharp, immediately recognisable — and then does something unusual: a smoky birch note comes through underneath, dry and slightly leathery, and turns what could have been a sweet fragrance into something with real weight. Musk, oakmoss and vanilla hold the base together.
The effect is confident without being loud, which is why it works as well in a meeting as at an evening out. It is a genuinely versatile bottle, and it performs strongly in heat — the smoke and musk hold up in Nairobi sun and coastal humidity where lighter fragrances thin out. Expect eight hours or more.
