Description
Noir de Noir is one of the original Private Blend fragrances and still one of the most distinctive. It is a rose fragrance, but not the light, powdery kind. This rose is dark, wine-soaked and edged with earth.
Saffron opens it, black rose sits in the middle, and the base is truffle, patchouli, oud and vanilla. The truffle note is what makes it unusual, giving the whole thing a damp, earthy depth that stops the rose from ever reading as pretty or old-fashioned.
It wears as genuinely unisex. On a man it reads as bold and slightly gothic, on a woman as rich and grown-up. Either way it needs the right setting, which is evening, indoors, cooler weather.
