Effaclar Serum is built for oily, blemish-prone skin that is dealing with two problems at once: active breakouts and the dark marks left by the last round of them.
It combines salicylic acid, which works inside the pore to clear congestion, with glycolic and lipo-hydroxy acids that resurface the skin and speed up how quickly post-acne marks fade. Together they address texture, clogging and tone in one step.
The marks are the part most people in Kenya care about most. On melanin-rich skin a spot heals and leaves a dark patch that can take six months or longer to go on its own, and that patch is what makes skin look uneven far more than the original breakout did. Consistent acid use shortens that considerably.
Use it in the evening on clean skin, starting three nights a week and building up as tolerated. Follow with a moisturiser. Do not use it on the same night as a retinol until you know how your skin handles each one separately.
Daily sunscreen is essential while using this. Acids make skin more sun-sensitive, and unprotected sun exposure will darken the very marks you are trying to fade.
