Description
This is the tub that made CeraVe a household name, and it has earned that position. It is a rich, unscented cream for dry and very dry skin, usable on the face and the whole body.
It contains three essential ceramides and hyaluronic acid delivered through a slow-release system, which is why the hydration holds for hours rather than fading half an hour after application. Ceramides are the lipids that make up the skin barrier, and dry, tight, flaky skin is usually a sign that they are depleted.
It is genuinely useful in Kenyan conditions people do not always associate with dryness. Air conditioning in offices, long drives, dry Nairobi weather in July and August, and harsh soaps all pull moisture out of the skin. It is also a standard recommendation for eczema-prone skin and for children.
On the face it suits dry and normal skin, particularly at night. If your skin is oily or breakout-prone, this may be too rich for daily facial use, though it still works well on the body.
